Your After Care Advice

We will take a thorough history of your complaint and details of your medical history both past and present. This will help us understand your problem. Treatment involves both you and your practitioner working in cooperation. Please ask if anything is not clear to you at any time. You should inform the practitioner if you do not wish to continue with the session.

We may ask you to undress so that we can examine you effectively. This, in some cases, may mean you need to be undressed to your underwear so that we can see how you are standing and moving. Gowns and towels are always available. Please inform your practitioner if you have any concerns.

We may need to do some standard or special tests, to help us diagnose your complaint, such as blood pressure, reflexes and sensation.

After the history and examination we should be able to give you a diagnosis and some indication as to the treatment we would recommend. We use models and visual aids to help explain what might be the cause of the problem.

We will do our best to treat you in the most suitable way for you and your condition. Treatment often involves movement of your joints, work on the muscles and surrounding tissues. This may be uncomfortable but is not usually painful. Other treatments are Acupuncture and Moxibustion and in some cases we will combine this treatment with manipulation.

We always do our very best to give you advice on how you should proceed with your problem. We can prescribe simple or special exercises and recommend supplements in accordance with your needs. Following our advice gives you the best chance of a successful outcome to your treatment.

Please inform your practitioner or reception if you did not understand your treatment, after care advice or if you require any answers to your questions.
